Mud Fever in Horses
Mud fever is caused by horses/ponies legs being partially covered in wet mud. During the wet weather the horse/pony will lose hair on legs, which if left unattended will bleed and could lead to cellulitis.
Our treatment is very simple, based on a waterproof carrier, with essential oils that will kill bacteria, aid healing and prevent infection when used regularly. We have found just 2 or 3 weekly applications can completely clear up mud fever. Due to the slippery, waterproof consistency it is recommended that you wear gloves when applying.
